So, did you hear about this new Marvel thing: Marvel Legacy?
You can read about it here, but it's basically a return to form for Marvel. Classic characters back in their status quo (yay?), a return to legacy numbering (thank fucking God), corner boxes on covers, fan reach out stuff (like FOOM and hopefully bullpen bits); basically it's Marvel's version of DC Rebirth. Which, hey, Matthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04546900229885548577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-435440800985899522.post-60192711391199334422015-02-17T10:30:00.000-08:002015-02-17T10:30:00.718-08:00I Made a Movie AND NOW YOU CAN BUY IT!
I'm sure you noticed the significant drop off in posts around here circa 2012. I assure you it wasn't due to a lack of love for comics, lack of desire to write, or a passing interest in blogging, but rather because my time was being taken up by something else. That something else was a movie. And now you can buy it on DVD and/or VOD.

Today Marvel had a big press conference about their latest Earth-Shattering crossover, Secret Wars, and it looks like it might actually live up to the hype. In said press conference they announced this crossover would be the climax for the story that's been running in Hickman's New Avengers about different Earths smashing into each other. And, surprising no one, said crossover would Matthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04546900229885548577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-435440800985899522.post-7295220052103209372014-08-29T17:21:00.000-07:002014-08-29T17:21:48.938-07:00Original Sin: The Best Marvel Event In A While
Original Sin might be Marvel's best event crossover since Civil War. But instead of trading on controversial character actions, Original Sin seems to be more interested in high adventure and boundless imagination (and maybe one controversial character action).
The setup was simple enough: Someone murdered The Watcher and now someone has weaponized the secrets he accumulated Matthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04546900229885548577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-435440800985899522.post-82857035899964203932014-07-31T18:37:00.000-07:002014-07-31T18:37:33.839-07:00Behold the Mighty GALACTYPUS!

If you keep up on your comic news and/or are a viewer of Marvel's Agents of Shield, then you might be aware that they just recently added a bonafide superhero to their ranks, namely Deathlok. Or at least, that's what all the hype (both sanctioned and fan-generated) would have you believe going into their last new episode. Sadly, who they introduced has about as much to do with Matthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04546900229885548577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-435440800985899522.post-78678538319552131002013-11-20T14:00:00.000-08:002013-11-20T14:00:04.699-08:00The Threshold
Real Talk: Infinity is not very good.
It's cold, impersonal, and ultimately pretty boring. Sure, it has some real epic set pieces, but that junk don't make an impact if I don't care about who or what it's impacting. As a life long comic fan, I have strong opinions about the directions my favorite books have taken. More than often, I'm really happy with how things turn out or at least am surprised by the proceedings. Sometimes though, I can't help but to yearn for things to turn out differently. So today we're going to give into ego and delve deep into what I would have done if I was in Matthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04546900229885548577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-435440800985899522.post-12716389830177662702013-06-25T19:47:00.000-07:002013-06-25T19:47:14.378-07:00About That Man of Steel Ending...
I'm sure most of you, being that this is a comics blog, watched that new Superman movie that hit theaters last week. And if you did, I'm sure you came away with some opinions. To say that it's a movie that invites debate is putting it mildly.
My short, non-spoilery take on the movie is thusly: At least it was better than Superman Returns. Then again, it's not Matthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04546900229885548577noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-435440800985899522.post-7503810528244840702013-04-25T12:24:00.000-07:002013-04-25T12:25:40.651-07:00Heroes for Hire: The Movie!

Once upon a time, I loved watching this show every Saturday morning; It was the highlight of my week! It was this big serious show that dealt with all the stuff I loved about the X-Men, even if it didn't feature any of my favorite characters (I was an X-Force kid through and through).
